At its core, affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing strategy where you earn a commission by promoting someone else’s products or services. When you share a special link, known as an affiliate link, and someone makes a purchase through that link, you earn a percentage of that sale, referred to as a commission.
To illustrate, imagine you join the Amazon Associates program. You promote a pair of headphones you love by sharing a unique link. If someone clicks your link and buys the headphones, you earn a commission, which can be a percentage of the sale price. Even if they purchase additional items during their shopping session, you still receive a commission on those sales.
